Jessica Wicks transitioned in 1990. In 1950, when she was three, Jessica told her mother she was a girl. Jessica notes: “I remember when I began hormones. Despite the mood swings, nothing ever felt so right. Early on was learning how to be the authentic me, unlearning a lifetime of a performance as a guy. Of course I met with a lot of opposition, loss of family and friends. ‘To thine own self be true'; I found that elusive happiness in life at long last.”
