Join us at we visit The Empowerment Plan, a non-profit organization that makes weather-resistant coats that turn into sleeping bags for the homeless.

Join Tikvah Hadassah for a follow-up visit to the shop where the coats are made and see firsthand the direct impact of Tikkun Olam. Learn how over 100 jobs have been created affecting more than 300 children, moving families out of homeless situations, improving their lives, and enabling them to become productive citizens.

The coats were first made by six former homeless women who were taught a new trade. The founder, Veronika Scott, is the great niece and granddaughter of Hadassah members. Eight years after our first visit, 65,000 coats have been distributed to all 50 states, 11 provinces and territories, and 20 other countries.
