Please join us for a virtual baby shower fundraiser. Monies raised will go toward purchasing at least one $1200 bilirubin monitor for the pediatric ward at Hadassah Medical Center.

Why a bilirubin monitor? In babies whose blood bilirubin levels reach harmful levels, bilirubin may get into the brain and cause reversible damage or permanent damage. A bilirubin monitor measures the amount of bilirubin in the blood. In newborns, it can take some time for the liver to start working properly. Frequent monitoring and urgent, early treatment of babies at high risk for jaundice helps to prevent severe neonatal jaundice.

Guest speaker will be Gila Zarbiv, Certified Nurse Midwife. Gila is a Certified Nurse Midwife from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem and is the Infectious Disease Prevention Specialist in the Labor and Delivery Ward. Gila studied nursing at Henrietta Szold Hadassah Hebrew University School of Nursing, followed by midwifery. She meets and follows women throughout all the stages of their pregancy, delivery, and postnatal period, as well as private sessions with couples who have had traumatic birth experiences or experienced loss during pregnancy, labor, or delivery.
